LE CHAT NOIR ENTRE PERVERSION DU PERSONNAGE ET SYMBOLIQUE DE L’ANIMAL DANS « LE CHAT NOIR » D’EDGAR ALLAN POE

Abstract

By interest in fantasy literature, we shed light on the story of a great 19th century novelist and poet Edgar Allan Poe.Who invites us in his new "The Black Cat" to live anguish and doubt by anchoring in the ordinary reality of an element of the unreal and the mysterious.With the suggestion of an explanation of the enigma, peculiar to the fantastic narratives, particularly those of Poe. Our research work is divided into two chapters. The first chapter opts for a psychoanalytic study of the character/author, we make a glimpse on the life and the works of the author, then we approach the new fantasy and then the auto fiction and we end the liaison woman/love/death in the text. The second chapter is a symbolic study of the character/author, we demonstrate the emergence of animality and the change of behavior and then we approach the symbolic burden by referring to the symbols and interpreting them. Finally, we confirm the manifestation of the Oedipus complex in the author.
