The Role of Classroom Interaction in Improving EFL learners’ Speaking Skill A Case study of third year EFL LMD Students at Mohamed Khieder University of Biskra

Abstract

ABSTRACT The present study aims to investigate the role of classroom interaction in improving EFL learners speaking skill, because the first purpose to learn a foreing language is to communicate with others. Thus classroom interaction is a tool to acheive this goal.In the current work, we hypothesis that the implementation of classroom interaction in EFL classes will enhance students‟ oral production. For carrying out this research, we opted for a descriptive method, that explains its aims to describe the role of classroom interaction in improving EFL learners‟speaking skill. A questionnaire is used to substantiate the effectiveness of classroom interaction on students‟ oral profeciancy and to know teachers opinions about it.The results obtained to show the significant role of interaction as a pedagogical tool for developing students‟ language and increasing their confidance. Furthermore, we suggest some recommendations in ordr to help students overcome their speaking difficulties as well as to help teachers to choose the appropriate tool in their oral classes.الملخص الهدف من اجراء هذا البحث هو تاكيد دور تفاعل الطلاب داخل الفصول الدراسية في تحسين مهاراة تكلم اللغة الانجليزية كما تطمح الى تاكيد الدور الفعال للاستاذ في تحفيز الطلبة من اجل تحسين نطقهم للغة الانجليزية. ان الفرضية المطروحة في هذا البحث تبين اهمية تفاعل الطلاب داخل القسم في تحسين مهاراتهم الشفاهية من خلال التفاعل المستمر بينهم , كما يهدف هذا البحث الى تبيين اهمية الاستاذ في توجيه الطلبة وتعليمهم اساليب الكلام الصحيحة مع الاخذ بعين الاعتبار النطق الصحيح والواضح للكلمات سواء داخل القسم او خارجه, وذلك من خلال تطبيقه لبعض التمارين والتقنيات التي توضح للطالب النطق الاصح للغة الانجليزية بمختلف لهجاتها ومن اجل توثيق وتاكيد الفرضية المطروحة قمنا بتوزيع استبيان للطلبة سنة ثالثة في جامعة محمد خيضر بسكرة لمعرفة مدى وعيهم حول هذه الاستراتيجية في تطوير عملية النطق عندهم كما قمنا بتوزيع استبيان لاساتذة المختصين لمعرفة ارائهم عن هذه الاستراتيجية ومدى تطبيقهم لها من اجل مساعدة الطلبة في تعلم النطق الصحيح لهذه اللغة ولقد استنتجنا من خلال هذا البحث ان الطلبة تفاعلو مع هذه الاستراتيجية حيث اشادوا بدورها الاجابي في تحسين مهاراتهم الشفاهية .
