Abstract: | Shell structures are widely used in with very complex geometric shapes. The analytical study is generally limited to cases of simple shapes, and therefore the numerical analysis has become an effective tool for the case of structures of complex geometrical shape. This research focuses on numerical modeling of such structures by the finite element method and the formulation of a flat shell finite element; these elements are obtained by the superposition of membrane and bending behaviour. Validations tests of these elements are made, as well as applications in the field of civil engineering are treated with code SAP2000. |
