New glasses based on Sb2O3 are elaborated and characterized, the systems studied as follows 60Sb2O3-(40-x) NaPO3-xWO3 (where x = 0 to 25), 60 Sb2O3 (40-x) NaPO3 x WO3 0.1 Pr2O3 (x=0,5,10,15,20,25), 47.5 Sb2O3 47.5 NaPO3 5 WO3- x Pr6O11 (x= 0.05, 0.1, 0.25, 0.3), 47.5 Sb2O3 47.5 NaPO3 5 WO3 0.1 Pr6O11 xYb2O3, (x= 0.25, 0.5,0.75,1) mol%. The results of different physical properties from Raman, FTIR, DSC, UV-V, density, hardness, elastic moduli and refractive index confirm that these glasses studied prove to be potential candidates for optical devices. Also, the results of Judd-Ofelt parameters, the radiative properties, experimental lifetime and CIE chromaticity diagram by applying the theories of Judd-Ofelt, Mc-Cumber and the Fuchtbauer-Ladenburg method and from absorption and emission spectra confirm that these glasses can be used as materials for optical amplification as well as for orange, red and blue emission applications.en_US
