Title: Effet du diluant sur l’extraction du cuivre(II) par la N-salicylidèneaniline
Authors: Samra, BENKACEM
Issue Date: 4-Jul-2012
Abstract: n the present work, the extraction of copper (II) from sulfate media with Nsalicylideneaniline in various polar and nonpolar solvents at 25 °C, has been carried out. In order to determine the mode of coordination and extraction of Nsalicylideneaniline, we made a study concerning their equilibrium keto-enolic, their space configuration, which made it possible to interpret the results resulting from their use in the operation of the solvent extraction. The stoichiometry of the extracted species in the organic phase have been found to be CuL2 in cyclohexane, n-heptane, xylene, 1-octanol and isobutyl-methyl keton, and CuL2 with CuL2HL in dichloromethane and chloroform. The electronic spectra of these complexes show that they have an octahedral geometry. According to the nature of the solvent, the extraction of copper (II) by Nsalicylideneaniline decreased in the order: Cyclohexane> dichloromethane> xylene~ chloroform> n-heptane> 1-octanol> isobutylmethyl keton.
