Abstract: | The city of Kairouan is the first Islamic city built in the Maghreb, and it had a civilized role in the Islamic Maghreb established by Uqba bin Nafi in the year 50 AH / 670 AD, to serve as a military base for the conquest of North Africa to become the capital of the Islamic Maghreb for five centuries. The city witnessed a civilizational prosperity that had great effects for the Maghreb in the military, political, economic, social, scientific, social and urban role, which had a great impact on all the roles in which Kairouan emerged as a civilized center for the Arab Islamic Maghreb. Conversion was not easy, as it began as a soldier camp and then turned into a very important and large city during the next three centuries of its founding. |
