Abstract: | This study aimed to explore the effect of divorce on children’s academic achievement. For that goal, it asked the following questions: the principal question: How does divorce affect children’s academic achievement? The sub-questions: Does the financial support of the divorced help with academic achievement? Does the moral support of the divorced help with academic achievement? This research depends primarily on the descriptive approach, which is considered the most used approach in social sciences and humanities, alongside a group of research techniques to gather data collection (forms and observations). The study used purposeful sampling in a group of people estimated at 40 by applying interview forms, and the results showed that 55% of the study samples answered that financial support for the divorced helps with academic achievement. While 95% answered that moral support for the divorced helps with academic achievement, moreover, Through analyzing and discussing the sub-questions, we found that divorce indeed affects children’s academic achievement, whether in terms of financial support or moral support. Lastly, we can say that the obtained results are considered partial due to the nature of the research, especially for complicated social phenomena |
