Abstract

This study is to interrogate the structure of the place in the novel "The Westernization of Fire" by Fatima Hamdi, So we raised a set of questions related to the spatial structure and its manifestations in the novel, In order to answer these questions, we decided to divide the research into an introduction and two chapters, In our study, we relied on the descriptive structural approach, which was in line with the purpose of the study, in addition to other approaches required by the nature of the study. In the introduction, we gathered some Terminologies and concepts, in the first chapter; we dealt with the types of places in the novel, such as open and closed places, As for the second chapter, we devoted it to the relationship between place and the characters and the dimensions of the place, followed by a conclusion containing the most important results we reached. Finally, we hope that this research will open horizons for other studies and penetrate the works of the novelist Fatima Hamdi.
