Abstract

Text thresholds are an essential component in understanding the specificity of the literary text, decoding its secrets, and defining its semantic purposes, interpreting it, and illuminating its obscure sides. The novel “Taraib” is full of thresholds which the writer enriched it with various mechanisms, artistic and aesthetic tools, that contribute to shaping the reader’s horizon, influencing his reception of the text, and helping him to absorb the text and its ideas. In this study, I sought to highlight the internal and external textual thresholds of Taraib’s novel, so my study came according to the following plan: an introduction in which I identified the textual thresholds, and the first chapter in which I studied the internal and external textual thresholds, and a various secondary titles fall within it, while the second chapter came under the title of: the internal and external textual thresholds in Taraib's novel, in the conclusion i determined the importance of textual thresholds
