Abstract

Pragmatics studies language not in terms of its structure, as structuralism does; But in terms of its use, especially when the language is linked to the purposes of the interlocutors; That is, it is related to what the speaker decides in his mind, and then seeks to direct the listener to realize the information, meanings and connotations contained in his speech. It is sometimes difficult for the recipient to understand the intention of the speaker, which led to the emergence of what is called: the multifunctionality of natural language, as a tool for social interaction, and this tool is not realized in itself; Rather, it is achieved through the effectiveness of the specific use of social interaction between members of society, and this is what is required by intentionality, which is a topic of pragmatics
