Abstract

In this work, we have addressed a topic which touches every person, because it is part of his human and emotional being, so we made a study of the tragic sense in "When the Chrysanthemum Blooms" novel. We clearly embodied the tragedy through the sufferings of the characters. The beginning of the research was an introduction in which we identified some concepts related to the subject. Then, we moved on to the first chapter in which we examined both the tragic space and time in the novel. The second chapter came as a study of the tragic personality. Monitering the manifestations of the suffering of both the main and secondary characters were the most highlighted in its content. Finally, we concluded the study with the most prominent resuslts.
