Abstract: Imre Lakatos, a contemporary philosopher, was particularly interested in the issues and problematics of the philosophy of science and its history. He proposed an epistemological project - the "Methodology of Scientific Research Programms" - as a means to address the problem of knowledge-growth in scientific inquiry, and placed great emphasis on the significance of historical awareness. This approach superseded existing, dominant methodologies, notably Popper's falsificationism and Kuhn's paradigmatic model. The Lakatosian methodology is grounded in three core principles: the "hard core", "protective belt", and "positive heuristic". These principles serve as the foundational elements of any research program. As such, the Lakatosian approach is considered to offer a novel perspective on science, its philosophy, and history
