Abstract

Hermeneutics, as it is the art of interpretation, is one of the oldest philosophical issues, as it has its roots in Greek philosophy, but it did not take its true philosophical dimensions, except in German philosophy, where it became with Schleiermacher, Dilthey, and Gadamer dealing with the problem of understanding. Gadamer gives importance to the relationship of belonging, and from there He talks about historical self-awareness, re-consideration of heritage and power in shaping its prejudices in its understanding of things and subjects, and in this is a kind of rejection of what the Enlightenment called for objectivity, but Ghadamir does not completely reject this claim, as he takes a methodical moment in every reading of the discourse. Where understanding is not evident except in the dialectic between the relationship of affiliation and sympathy, and this means that understanding is relative and is formed only through the logic of dialogue, question and answer. To find the nature of the relationship between ontological understanding and objective understanding, and to reach a fusion of horizons between them, and thus apply it in several examples such as the historical, linguistic, aesthetic and finally human experience.
