Abstract

Nizar Qabbani is one of the most important poets who have a unique language This study was entitled; Generative semantics, in Nizar Qabbani's Poetry; In order to show the extent of the poet's ability to create a new language, and for this purpose, the work was divided into: an introduction dealing with the life of Nizar Qabbani,and the most important characteristics of his language, and three other chapters: The first chapter dealt with generative manifestations words (etymology, borrowing and improvisation) through his complete poetic works, and the second chapter dealt with generative manifestations at the level of structures, and the last chapter dealt with the generative manifestations at the metaphorical level (analogy, metaphor, metonymy). The conclusion confirms that Nizar Qabbani deviated from the rules of the language at the level of pronunciation, structure and metaphor, which made him different, and despite all the criticism directed at him, he continued on his path, leaving the interpretation to the reader.
