Abstract

Through the study we conducted, we aimed to highlight the role of entrepreneurial education in developing entrepreneurial competencies in its various dimensions (personal, managerial, and technical competencies). Our focus was on students majoring in entrepreneurship and business management at the University of Biskra. The study was divided into two parts; the first part was theoretical, where we presented various contributions and research that addressed the variables related to entrepreneurial education. The second part was practical, involving a field study on a sample of 130 individuals. The objective of this study was to uncover the relationship and role between entrepreneurial education at the University of Biskra and the development of various types of entrepreneurial competencies. We utilized a questionnaire designed as a tool to collect necessary data that would assist in our study. Building on previous studies and research in this field, we constructed a conceptual model for our study, including main hypotheses and derived sub-hypotheses. Our findings led to several conclusions, with the most significant being the confirmed role of entrepreneurial education in developing entrepreneurial competencies among students majoring in entrepreneurship and business management. The relationship was found to be strong, emphasizing the need to enhance entrepreneurial education methods from traditional lecturing and knowledge delivery to experiential learning through field visits to emerging enterprises. Encouraging universities, colleges, and research laboratories to organize educational days and conferences focusing on entrepreneurial education and its effective role within the university and in economic development is crucial. Strengthening the connection between the educational context and the labor market, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, through agreements and contracts allowing the utilization of entrepreneurs' experiences in this field, was also recommended.
