Abstract

The subject of our study tagged with the symbolic violence representations across digital spacesamong Algerian youth aims to disclose the connotation representation for a sample of the contents of symbolic violence published on many Algerian Facebook pages.The study targeted the symbol that denotes the violence as an important mechanism and tool for representing the symbolic violence by imposing meanings and connotations of violence against the other under symbolic demarcations that have gained a place in digital space with a lot of complicity and legitimacy.The study subject treats a multi faceted problematic fact moved to a new environment to represent it within a social media sites where Facebook became a new mechanism for representing the symbolic violence; thus, itcontaine dsymbolic dimensions that formed an important part of virtual interaction in its interchangeable patter n among youth, that lead us to searchingits dimensions and revealingits connotations and pictorial representations in itsunknown reality for many. This spreading makes the symbolic violence concept as a circulating concept in digital environment concepts within multiple concepts; especially, with the social media sites that were the new repository for its new strong emergence. To elucidate the symbolic violence representation, we had a descriptive approach to reveal this phenomenon by approaching its connotation dimensions through a simulsani ananalytical survey reading contained an ideology of "Roland Barthes" and "Patrick Charaudeau" for Algerian Facebook pages had symbolic violence content. The approach has done with a semiological content analys is too l which represents our main tool for revealing the connotations of symbolic violence and its apparent and hidden meanings in itslinguistic dimension by using the approach of "Patrick Charaudeau" based on the production of meaning within psychosocial care for this representation of the hermeneutic synthetic general context to produce the symbolic violence discours along with its iconic dimension through the approach of "Roland Barthes" to limit the specific and implicit level for this symbolic messages of deep psychological meaning.We relied on the observation and the electronic interview in order to achieve the descriptive representation of a sample represented in eighteen images that we desired to have through them an inventory and representation of several dimensions in dealing with the symbolic violence with in different fields. Within operating procedures and screening of representations of symbolic violence, we reached several important results, which in their symbolic structure carried the answer to our main question, that the symbolic violence was represented within multiple contents carrying signs and meanings of violence with different dimensions. The violence was represented in its symbolic social, health, technological, academic, media, cultural, political and religious demarcations; thus, they gave penetration and depth to violence through the presence of its authority a cross the different Algerian life field swith in the digital environment.This molds the symbolic violence in a verbal form via Facebook, which is made the word the main tool in spreading the symbolic violence burden, that turned intoiconography spaces through its stereoty peperceived through the image.The violence discours language has diversified in addition to the presence of symbolic interaction language with a symbolic iconic dimension in light of the absence of body language and the presence of emojisymbols to give the support and integration between text-iconic language efunctions. They are demarcations in their entirety that do not depart from the context of daily Algerian life, which represent the interactive and mutual reality between youth in the digital space; hence, itreflected the flow of a hidden symbolic authority that within its hidden connotation dimensions revealed to us the sender’s intention determined in the light of the iconic verbal given disclosing a symbolic violence representation toward the other with much underest imation, belittling, ridicule, reprimand, blame, a dmonition, ignoring, insulting, clowning.... and other methods that reflected the power and influence of violence with an influential lpsychological dimension. All of these demarcations were formulated witht heir multiple themes and templates in the digital environment of Algerian youth as an appearance spread via social media sites with in a new carrier, Facebook, to reflect its extension to the real space to realize the reality of the representation of symbolic violence through the Algerian Facebook; hence, it considered as an extension of the violence of reality. It is intelligent, hidden and soft violence based on imposing connotations and meanings of images from Algerian life and the reality of youth. With inseveral dimensions, the power of violence emerges to penetrate and under cover in all connotations. In spite of ,it has an enter tainment dimension, it is based on passing a load of symbolic violence that carries the complicity and legitimacy of the other.
