Abstract

This study aims to diagnose the performance of the information system by applying the ‘design—reality gap’ conceptual model of Hicks, where institutions are living today in a revolution of developments and changes in various fields and at the various economic, social and technological levels, as they operate under a system that is characterized by dynamism and renewal and depends on the elements and components of a complex system whose purpose is to transfer and recycle Information within the institutions and within the sector in which they are active. This system is the information system that is based on data and information that constitute the raw material for the planning and management process for the functions of the organization. In our research, we dealt with this definition of the basics of the information system and its components, while diagnosing all its components separately, then finding the problems that suffer from it within the organization under study, by applying design—reality gap’ conceptual model of Hicks on the organization and proposing solutions for each problem of the components of the information system
