Abstract

The study of language using computers is one of the latest linguistic trends in contemporary linguistics. This research deals with the contributions of computational linguistics in serving the Arabic language. As is known, the relationship between computers and the Arabic language is based on two main axes: the first is theoretical and the other is applied. In light of this, the research presents the emergence of computational linguistics and the efforts of Arabs in adapting computer technologies to serve the Arabic language (phonemes, morphology, syntax, lexicon, and semantics). The research also presents the investment of computational linguistics in the field of teaching Arabic to its children and to speakers of other languages.
