Abstract: Abstract This thesis aimed to study uniform flow in four types of open channels with horizontal bottoms and curved sides: circular, semi-elliptical, elliptical, and power-law shapes. The practical significance of each shape was highlighted. Uniform flow in these channels was examined using the RMM method, which considers the variation of flow resistance coefficient and applies across the entire range of turbulent flow regimes, including smooth, transitional, and rough domains. For channels with horizontal bottoms and circular or semi-elliptical sides, the results led to models for sizing these channels and determining normal depth, volumetric flow rate, average flow velocity, Reynolds number, and friction coefficient. A specific method was employed to size these channels at critical state using the Froude number formula. For channels with horizontal bottoms and elliptical or power-law sides, methods for sizing these channels and calculating normal depth were proposed. Several application examples were presented to demonstrate to the user the implementation steps of the recommended approaches, to highlight the application requirements of certain methods, and to confirm their validity. Additionally, criteria for selecting channel types from reviewed literature were supplemented with additional criteria based on our perspective. Finally, recommendations were suggested to improve and complement the studies conducted in this thesis
