Abstract: The development of wind turbine technology has greatly accelerated in recent years and its development will progress through the improvement achieved on techniques and means of converting wind energy into electrical energy. The purpose of this memorandum is to try to add a step in the development of this sector of energy production that presents a significant environmental benefit. For this system, the model of turbine is associated with the model of the DFIG which is the type of machines chosen for this study. Lately, most powerful wind turbines are of this type. The power generated is transmitted to the network via the windings of the stator and rotor of the machine. The objective of using the DFIG is extracting the maximum of power from a wind speed variable speed optimizing the ratio λ. In this work, we will model all parts of this chain simulation with MATLAB - SIMULINK. The technique for extracting the maximum power is to adjust the torque (active power) of the generator to set its speed to optimum value. With the use of DFIG, most of the power generated is distributed to the network by the stator , and less than 25% of the nominal power through the two power converters in the rotor. This is another reason that justifies the use of DFIG. The rotor side converter (RSC) is ordered by a PWM whose instructions come from the vectorial control of the DFIG. This control thus enables us to control the independently activate and reactive powers by establishing the equations which bind the values of the rotor voltage generated by (RSC) to the powers active one and reactivates stator. This study can be extended to improve the quality of electric power network by to make an active filtering.
