Abstract: This work aimed at the study of the elimination of the meclofenamic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the family of fenamics acids, aquatic environment. This molecule has a band (strip) of absorption between 200 nm and 315 nm with maximum peaks of absorption in 215 nm and 275 nm. Thus, the study of the direct photolysis of the meclofenamic acid was realized under the monochromatic (λ=253.7 nm) and polychromatic (λ > 285 nm) exposure of lamps. The follow-up of the kinetics of degradation was realized with a high-pressure liquid chromatograph. This study showed a faster and more important degradation of the molecule under the monochromatic lamp (kapp = 4.857 .10-3) than under the polychromatic lamp (Kapp = 0.084 .10-3) which feigns the sun rays. The degradation of the meclofenamic acid engendered the formation of byproducts. Six of them were highlighted by a couple chromatograph in gas phase and spectrophotometer of mass. In most of the cases, these photoproducts preserved a structure close to the meclofenamic acid.
