Abstract: The present investigation was conducted during the 2006/2007 academic year, on the experimental site of the ITGC Agricultural Research Station of Sétif with 9 durum wheat genotypes (Triticum durum Desf.), namely Boussalam/Ofanto, Boussalam/MBB, Waha, Waha/MBB, Waha/Ofanto, Safa, Boussalam , Ofanto and Mohammed Ben Bachir in a randomized complete blocs design with three replications. Measured traits were accumulated biomass, plant height, leaf structure, grain yield, yield components and the translocation of stem stored carbohydrates to the grain filling. The results indicated a significant date and date x genotype interaction for the over time repeated measurements during the crop cycle. The data classified of the different genotypes into three clusters which differed mainly for yield, kernels per ear, spike weight, translocation of the stem stored assimilats and leaf specific weight. The top yielding variety was Boussalam/MBB of the third cluster, which was characterized by a rather intermediate capacity of translocation, suggesting that under favourable growth conditions of the end of cycle as those experienced during the present cropping season, the yield bulk is made of mainly from the product of the post anthesis photosynthetic activity.
