Abstract

This study deals with the concept of museum collections and types such as (Realia - Artifacts - Diorama - Models - Toys - Games – Art Original - Art Reproduction - Kits, Globes), through the definition of each type with examples illustrative. Then display the variety of physical, morphological characteristics of the types of museum collections, and raw materials that make them such groups, Considering that these properties form the factors that control handled in libraries, control and organized, preserved and access. This study also dealing with the history of the emergence and development of the acquisition museum collections three-dimensional in libraries since the third century BC until the middle of last century, there have been some attempts, which called for and focused on the acquisition , the inclusion and use of museum collections in library collections, and private personal groups that contributed seriously to the emergence of public collections.
