Abstract: It is certain that the image occupies a special place in our world, and this position is due to its ability to influence our minds and our lives. It is, without question, an infallible means of communication which translates what human beings need in terms of ideas and emotions in a more than easy way. The image, since the dawn of time, has monopolized the human spirit so that it delegates to it the heavy responsibility of transmitting its ideas and expressing its desires and anxieties; and it is for this reason that it has acquired a power offering it the possibility of penetrating societies throughout the whole world. Thus, no one can resist its charms which are constantly growing thanks to its technical maturity accentuated by digitization and new technologies; while participating in the renovation of concepts in all cultural fields and also in human knowledge and knowledge by sounding the death knell of a new era, that of the image par excellence. Therefore, the presence of the image in the house, in the school, in the street and in the establishments overwhelms us in all situations; and it is not strange that in the schoolbook, the image participates and works to reinforce and consolidate the skills of the learner, essentially those related to the acquisition of language. And it is for this reason that we have chosen, in this study, to approach the contribution of the image in the textbooks of the primary level, and more precisely, the textbooks of the first reform, by analyzing certain images of the textbooks of the 3rd year (as textbooks which will forge the entry profile of the learners), and those of the 5th year (which will finalize the exit profile of the learners). Thus, we judge that this choice is dictated by sensitivity of the age of the learners at this stage of their training; and the need to follow the evolutions of the exploitation of the image that the Ministry of Education tries to implement in order to modernize the school and to equip the learner with a panoply of tools, including the image is one of the most crucial, in order to integrate into the world of tomorrow.
