Issue Date: 2023
Abstract: If poetry is considered a crucible to accommodate different literary genres, then it is linked to narrative techniques that support the dynamics of storytelling in the poetic achievement, according to the mechanism of dialogue and description. Perhaps the contemporary Algerian poetry, especially the works of the poet (Ahmed Abdel Karim), represents a textual cohesion and cohesion, which used weight and rhythm and went beyond the formal structure to support the meaning hidden between the poetic lines. Moreover, since the free poem was related to the narrative, in terms of dramatic, intellectual, social and psychological expression, it was connected to aesthetic and semantic dimensions that were spread in the narrative construction. From there, the research encountered the narrative presence in Ahmed Abdel Karim's poetry, trying to track the writing feature and its uniqueness, taking the structural approach as a tool for it, with the help of the stylistic and descriptive approaches. The research was arranged in three chapters that were dominated by the procedural part. It was preceded by an introduction that clarified the relationship of poetry to literary genres. It was followed by a conclusion that collected the most important findings of the research. The first chapter presented the different characters in terms of reference, manifestations, and types, using the mechanisms of mask and irony in its dramatic construction, and its reliance on event and conflict as a basic element in the narrative movement and fuelling the storytelling process in poetic work. In the second chapter, the research monitors the movement of place in the poetic experience and aesthetic dimensions, and dives into its depths (open, closed, and mysterious), and the linguistic, terminological, philosophical, psychological, and literary roots, to prove that the place is not only a continental geographical area, but rather a mirror that reflects human feelings and mood attempts (confusion, sadness). Happiness, tranquillity...), the choice of place was not arbitrary, but rather it was in harmony with the psychological and spiritual side. The third chapter discussed time and the mechanisms of its use, as it touched on its idiomatic and philosophical concept, especially the literary one, so that the research is related to rhythmic time in terms of extending the length and shortness of sounds, and time in the semantic construction that dealt with anticipation, retrieval, summary and pause, and time in the lexical construction of the time technique.
