Abstract: study, which is labeled "The role of literary texts in achieving language adequacy for pupils of intermediate education in light of the Competency-based approaches ", focuses on trying to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of those selected literary texts in achieving the desired language efficiency in light of the educational goals drawn and established by the activities of the Arabic language available in the curricula of various linguistic skills, according to the level of the scientific and cognitive learner and according to his needs and tendencies, and especially the fourth year as the last and most important stage, since it represents the fertile space suitable for acquiring language, competencies and skills, and various means and mechanisms of expression in a manner that ensures and ensures the possibility of understanding literary texts and taking advantage of their most important linguistic qualifications, the most significant degree of linguistic learning and the degree of knowledge, and control of its practicality, and the degree of its practicality, and the degree of linguistic basis, and the degree of its practicality, and the degree of its usability to control of its practicality, and the degree of linguistic basis of The approach promises to be efficient in this regard with its best pragmatism and the most effective approaches for achieving this goal, by embodying the principle of a textual approach in dealing with the various activities and branches of the language in a unified, comprehensive and harmonious way that achieves the unity of the language and gives it meaning and significance, thus defining its features and principles in the learner's mind, which will help him to understand and understand its work, and use it functionally in a correct and correct way, as it is a functional approach that requires learning and the usefulness of these texts in a way that leads to their comprehensiveness and comprehension, in a way that leads them to the teaching of the texts and use them in a proper way This will not happen until the teacher succeeds in applying and embodying the principles of this new approach, provided that this is done in accordance with the appropriate adaptation of the latter to the reality of the learner, his culture and his surroundings, and the use of the latest methods and vital and effective methods in teaching language and literature, in order to direct language teaching through texts through a functional and communicative orientation that focuses on teaching the use of language in life, which is an activation of the study of literature by making it a servant of the reality of the learner, thus developing the competencies and linguistic knowledge desired in the curricula of the learner, and achieving the adequacy of receiving and job production in a way that in stirs up the spirit of initiative and creates a tendency for creativity and innovation, thus raising his linguistic level to use language in a way that makes it the use of language and achieves its efficiency, based on creative efficiency, the effectiveness of studying language and literature through realizing its function, to take the learner's hand from his school life towards his real and practical life, which ensures the development of the Arabic language and raising its level to meet other advanced languages like the science and technology languages.
